The multi-winning “Vento di Sardegna” is back, launched by the Port of Cagliari on 18th March after a restyling that has made it one of the most well equipped and modern boats of the moment. A technology 100% “Made in Sardinia” that even fills the skipper Andrea Mura with pride, and is ready to set sail again.
The winner of the historic Route du Rhum, with this revised version, is ready to face other adventures around the world. The boat launch was an emotional moment with godparents Mauro Fongia, urologist and internationally renowned specialist in robotic surgery, and Giuseppe Masnata, pediatrician who works with children in need present and both obviously lovers of sailing. There was also present at the team from New SardiniaSail, who are active in social reintegration initiatives and have given Mura lots of support in addition to participating with the skipper in the “Rotta della Legalità” project.
The glorious Open 50 will be in action first at the regatta ‘Roma per uno’ setting sail 10th April from Riva Trajan. A race that Andrea Mura has already won four times, but as a couple with Guido Maisto from Torino and they are also planning other major challenges in the Mediterranean.
